Most of us play games on our phones when we are bored or have some time to kill. They are mindless entertainment, and whether it’s Candy Crush or crosswords, there’s something oddly soothing about them. Unlike social apps where you’re forced to see how well others are living, gaming apps are just fun–plain and simple (albeit a slight waste of time).

If you find yourself playing hours of games on your phone, you might not have realized *how* bad some of them are for your battery life. Or maybe you wondered why yours kept dying, but didn’t know the reason why. We caught up with a leading tech expert to discover which gaming apps are worst for yours:

"You might think your iPhone battery is draining because you let your kids download Fortnight onto your smartphone, but the truth is the culprit is Candy Crush," Burton Kelso, The Technology Expert tells us.

"Although this seems like a simple game, there are a lot of complex operations working in the background such as constantly communicating back and forth with the Candy Crush servers," he explains. Yikes!


"This process of running the game and information being sent back and forth causes a major drain on your battery," Burton continues. Eep--well, now you know!
