It’s no secret that President Donald Trump isn’t afraid to voice his opinion when he disagrees with someone, but more recently, he scorned two people he put into powerful positions.

The president recently spoke to the press and bashed Supreme Court Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch after they voted and ruled against his latest tariff policy. His comments about how the pair “sicken” him were quite surprising to many, considering he had them appointed to the Supreme Court during his first term in office. Read more about what he had to say and how the internet reacted below.

Donald Trump Slams Amy Coney Barrett & Neil Gorsuch During New Interview

It's a tense time in the United States, as the current president continues to make debated and controversial decisions and rulings related to pressing issues, like immigration, climate change, foreign policy, etc.

One of the most buzzed-about policies he's been attempting to implement is his tariffs, which caused a lot of controversy and panic the first time around. On February 20th, the Supreme Court voted 6-3 to stop his latest tariff plan. Two of the opposing justices were Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch, whom the president previously proudly appointed during his first term.

Earlier this week, in front of a room of House republicans at the House GOP fundraiser on March 25th, Trump stated that Coney Barrett and Gorsuch "sicken him" and that "they're bad for our country."

"Not that it matters, it doesn’t matter at all, but two of the people that voted for that, I appointed, and they sicken me," he said. "They sicken me because they’re bad for our country."

Social Media Slams President Trump For His Comments On The Supreme Court

Though this is not the first time the 79-year-old has publicly bashed other notable figures in politics, it came as a surprise to some, considering that in the past, he had highly praised the two justices.

For instance, when Americans pushed against Amy Coney Barrett, he reassured citizens by calling her a "very smart" and "very good woman" while appointing her in 2020. Now that she is one of the justices who opposed him, he is certainly changing his tune.

On social media, users called out the president for the switch-up and reacted to his comments on platforms like Instagram.

"So...the courts are bad, and he appointed the judges?" asked a user.

"Correction: Trump is bad for our country," wrote a user.

"It's always somebody else's fault, not the orange clown who actually caused this mess," commented another.

One user gave Trump the nickname of "The Great Divider," as another asked, "Why does he continually degrade our government?"

We'll be curious to see if the two justices decide to respond directly to the president's criticism, but numerous Americans are seeing this instance as a reminder that those who turn against Trump may get turned on in return.
